Many Thanks for an Outstanding Vehicle Purchase Experience
It has been several weeks since Joanna and I purchased our new Xterra from OC Nissan Garden Grove. I wanted to make sure that I provided feedback to you and your team before things get so busy that I forget.
Please accept this feedback from a "customer" perspective even though I am an employee of Nissan.
First of all, Joanna and I both agree that this was by far the best new vehicle purchase we have ever had. Kudos to your entire team!
It was a Saturday morning (December 27th) and Joanna and I knew exactly what vehicle we wanted and our goal was to find it, purchase it, and have it home in time for a 2:00pm appointment.
The first place I went to was the internet. I searched for the vehicle we wanted and to see which Dealer had it in stock. I found the vehicle we wanted and I called Trish Tran to verify that the vehicle was in fact in stock and equipped as listed. The inventory was accurate...and Trish was exceptional! I explained that we would be making a purchase under the employee purchase program and that my goal was to have the entire deal done by 2:00pm.
Trish made the entire process pleasant and efficient. Her professionalism and eager, positive attitude is a breath of fresh air. She handled as much of the paper work up front as was possible to minimize the time we would have to spend at the Dealership.
When we arrived, we were greeted on the lot by friendly sales staff who welcomed us and even opened the doors for us. Thanks guys!
Once inside Trish continued with us to ensure our entire purchase experience was exceptional.
During our visit we took a minute to look around the store...it was awesome! Marketing materials, signage, brochures, vehicle displays and even a GT-R in the showroom!! The place looked fantastic!
There were many small, subtle touches that I am sure customers notice. There was free coffee (hot and fresh from a vending machine) and a very inexpensive assortment of other drinks and snacks; even a gumball machine for the kids.
When it came time for the Finance paper work Peter Nguyen greeted us warmly and clearly explained some of the more complicated items to us. He was very professional and polite and was not "pushy". He answered several questions we had about the Maintenance Plus program and we ultimately decided it was a package we would find useful.
Our vehicle was ready to drive home in no time and we left feeling great about all of the people we had met and determined to return to your Dealership for our service & maintenance needs. And, we made our 2:00pm appointment!
The professionalism continues on after the purchase. A few days after the purchase, we received a very nice follow-up call from Trish asking us if we had any questions about our new vehicle and thanking us again for our business. - It was a sincere and nice touch. And, then a few days later, we received a call from the Service Department to remind us to schedule our first service appointment.
While these are common "Best Practices" in the industry, it takes a dedicated management staff to ensure these processes are in place and working at the Dealership.
Please thank and congratulate your entire team on a job well done! And keep up the great effort...it is loyal customers that ultimately end up growing the business.

"I've had bad experiences with several Nissan employees around
Orange County. I usually have a harder time because I'm a female and
mechanics assume I don't know much about cars. I've even refused to go
back to Nissan of Orange because of their poor service and rude conduct.
Recently, I've had the greatest experience with one of your employees. His
name was Ed Ortiz. He was courteous, prompt and respectful. I have never
encountered an employee of his distinction. It was remarkable and I would
like to thank him for the impressive service I received. I was very much
appreciated. I hope you recognize your employees when they do such a great
job. I will be returning back to your Orange County location when I have a
